Adoption Letter

Dear Friends,
We admire you for your courage and strength. Although placing your child for adoption is a difficult decision it is the most selfless gift you could ever give your baby. You are amazing! We know Heavenly Father will help guide you through this challenging time in your life. Follow your heart. We hope you enjoy reading our letter and getting to know a little about our family.

We met 13 years ago on a trip to Lake Powell, best place ever! We then became high school sweet hearts and have been together ever since. This summer we will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary!

We love to play! We love to play so much that we know when it’s time to work, we need to work hard and soon it will be time to play again! Joey is a Paramedic/ Firefighter, and Kira works a few shifts a month (only if Joey’s off) as a Mother-Baby Nurse. When we aren’t at work you might find us on the Lake, out on the ATV’s, at the pool, barbecuing at grandma’s or pretty much anywhere besides sitting at home. We love to go!

Things we love to do together as a family include boating, camping, traveling, cooking, dancing, music, chocolate, canning, cookies, Disneyland, Hawaii, the beach, sewing, building things out of wood, hiking, gardening, playing Guitar Hero, church, swim team, softball, soccer, football, skiing and snow boarding, watching movies, riding bikes, exercising, and so much more! Life is an adventure and everyday presents us with a new opportunity. We love to hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

We have a very strong feeling that there is a child for our family waiting through the gift of adoption. Even as a small boy Joey would talk to his mother about adoption. We have explored the idea of adoption many times but now more than ever we feel that this little person is waiting to join our family. When I began my research I felt very overwhelmed. There are so many options, from private vs. agencies to domestic vs. international etc. How could we possibly make all the right choices to find this little person who is meant to be part of our family? One day while doing research I came across this saying:

Courage is not about knowing the path,
It’s about taking the first step.

This hit me really hard. I don’t have to know all the answers right now. I just need to have faith and the questions we have will start to fall into place. Now faith has brought us to you. I know this is a very difficult time for you. I hope since this quote touched my heart, maybe it will help you through the decisions you are trying to make also.

Never forget you are a special person! Heavenly Father Loves you, and he will find little ways to answer your prayers and guide you down the path you are suppose to be on. Thank you for taking time to read about our family and considering us as a possible adoptive family for your child.

Thinking of you always,
Joey and Kira
